Our Pool Building Process

Pool building process for our Bundaberg pools

Pool Build—Residential and Commercial Pools in QLD

Beginning the Process

Before we design and build your pool, we’ll arrange a consultation with you and discuss your vision, so that we can supply you with a quote for your pool. We may also require a Council Sewerage Plan.

If you prefer, during the consultation we can also organise pool fencing and the concreting of your pool surrounds. Other features you may want to include in your pool design are:

  • Beach entry
  • Air seats
  • Feature walls
  • Wet edge feature
  • Pool heating
  • Water feature

Once you’ve accepted our quote, the next step is contacting our pool engineers and applying for a pool building permit.

Pool Construction Stage 2

After we receive the building permit, we'll then start excavating your pool area. Before undertaking any digging, we'll need to access the area a day or two earlier to peg it out. All excavation is completed by experienced operators.

Pool Construction Stage 3

Once the excavation is finished, the next phase is boxing, steeling, or tinning up the construction. This part of the process is not required for all pools, just specialty pools and those being installed in specific soil types. The pipework is also installed at this point.

Pool Construction Stage 4

As the pool is now strengthened with metal framework in place, it’s time for the concrete sprayers to spray the walls and surfaces to a thickness of 150mm. Our concrete cutters will then check to ensure the walls are straight and the right thickness has been achieved.

Pool Construction Stage 5

After the pool has been cured for 3 to 4 weeks, it’s time to apply the finishes to the pool and feature wall. These include: coping, waterline and step edge tiling. At this point, water or rock features are also installed.

Pool Construction Stage 6

The next stage is landscaping and erecting the pool fence, which can be arranged by All Shape Pools. At this point, we'll also spray your pool interior with the colours of your choice and the pebblecrete finish if you've chosen that. Afterwards, we will finish with an acid wash. After your pool is dry and sealed and has had the finishes added, it can then be filled and your pump site set up. We can provide you with all of your pool accessories, such as a pump, blanket, chemicals and cleaner.
